MedSpeeder ensures continuity of care 620 miles away
For us, behind every phone call could be a patient who can’t wait. So when a Midwestern health system reached out at 12:30 p.m. with a critical supply shortage involving dialysis fluids, we understood the stakes immediately. They needed these materials moved from Kenosha, WI to Rochester, MN by noon the next day. One of our employees immediately stepped up in a way that demonstrates what exceptional customer support truly looks like.
The challenge? A 620-mile round trip and a delivery deadline in less than 24 hours with absolutely no wiggle room.
Stepping up without hesitation
When MedSpeed’s management call for help went out, Dale Mick (one of our logistics service representatives) didn’t hesitate. He volunteered to make the long overnight run, knowing exactly how tight the timing would be. Dale planned to leave Rochester around 2:00 a.m., ensuring he could reach the Kenosha pickup site right when they opened, maximizing every minute to keep the delivery on track.
The route wasn’t easy. Construction delays added pressure to an already demanding timeline. But Dale stayed focused, drove safely, and ensured the life-sustaining fluids reached the customer on time and without issue.
Our customer’s trust
Interestingly, when we confirmed that we could support the movement, the customer responded with almost casual calm. While some might read that as indifference, we see something else: trust. They’ve come to know that when a critical need arises, MedSpeed, and our team behind the wheel, will come through.
Mission accomplished, on time
Thanks to Dale’s commitment and the careful coordination behind the scenes, the delivery arrived exactly when it was needed. No delays. No disruptions. Just the kind of dependable, mission-driven service our healthcare partners rely on every day.
“We’re thankful for Dale’s readiness to go the extra mile to secure needed supplies. His actions made a meaningful difference in keeping patient care running smoothly,” said Katie O’Brien, one of MedSpeed’s General Managers.
Thank you, Dale, for embodying what it means to be a MedSpeeder!
