-Healthcare Transportation Expert Partners with Leading Clinical Laboratory-
Elmhurst, June 28, 2010 - MedSpeed, a specialized provider of transportation solutions to the healthcare industry, and Genesis Clinical Laboratory (GCL), a leading reference laboratory, have signed an agreement to form a comprehensive outsourcing partnership. Headquartered in Berwyn, Illinois and serving the greater Chicago area, GCL specializes in anatomic, clinical, cyto and forensic pathology and is part of the Nashville-based Vanguard Health System. In August, MedSpeed will assume responsibility for the strategic management and execution of GCL's entire transportation system, including specimens, supplies, and reports.
"We have ambitious plans for our business," states Dr. James Carson, President of GCL. "Within its field, MedSpeed has the best-in-class capabilities to help us achieve these goals. We are excited to team up with their organization."
MedSpeed was founded over 10 years ago with a core competency in laboratory transportation. The company brings its expertise, 100% employee-based workforce, ISO certified processes and sophisticated scanning and tracking software to every relationship.
"Managing the day-to-day logistics of a large laboratory is time-intensive and demanding", shared Philip Murray, Director of Finance of GCL. "In addition to day-one direct savings, this relationship will also enhance our customer service levels and allow our management team to focus on improving and growing our core business."
"We are very pleased to form a relationship with such a well established market leader and look forward to a long and productive partnership," said Jake Crampton, Chief Executive Officer of MedSpeed.
